NEW SUMMER EVENTS FOR 2017!

Skins & Skulls

The County Park Rangers will lead students in exploring the native species of our county by looking at their extensive collection of animal skins and skulls. Students will have the opportunity to touch all of the specimens and discover animal traits on their own through questions and observation. The group may also participate in acting out the different species adaptations and trying to guess each other's animal.

Nature Hike

The County Park Rangers will lead students on a guided nature hike to explore the outdoors. Students will learn about local flora and fauna while experiencing the outdoors, getting exercise, and enjoying their local parks. This program will cover a variety of topics including but not limited to: invasive species; mammals; birds; fungi; hiking safety; ecosystems; trees; and much more.

Bison: Animal Reserve with the Park Rangers

Explore the South Park Game Reserve and learn about the different species that live there. Park Rangers will teach about the difference between buffalo and bison and students will have the opportunity to explore their bison specimen collection.
