Information about the Recreation Department

The Recreation Department, headed by Recreation Director Colleen Dominick, provides organized recreational activities for all residents. Details of programs are published in the Park News and the schools distribute flyers at the appropriate times.


South Park Township is seeking a qualified individual to serve on the Recreation Board. The Recreation Board members serve in an advisory capacity regarding all recreation programs including holiday events and Community Day. Board members meet on the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Interested parties should contact South Park Township Administration at 412-831-7000 or print out and complete a Statement of Interest form found here.

Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch with the Easter Bunny - March 24, 2018

On Saturday, March 24th, 2018, the South Park Township Board of Supervisors and the Recreation Board are sponsoring an "Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch with the Easter Bunny" for children up to the age of 7 years old. The Easter Egg Hunt will take place outside the Community Center (weather permitting) at 11:45 a.m. with brunch (consisting of chicken nuggets, chips, and a drink) starting at 12:00 noon inside the Community Center. A registration form can be obtained here. You can also find the registration form in the current edition of the Park News. Please complete the form and send it to Colleen Dominick, Recreation Director, 2675 Brownsville Road, South Park, PA 15129. (All participants are asked to bring a nonperishable food item for the Meals on Wheels Program.)

Summer Activities

South Park Township will hold the annual Summer Recreation Program starting June 2018. Programs, activities, and fees include: a $60.00 fee and an extra $3.00 charge at Tennis and Golf. Registration for these programs will take place on April 19th, 2018 from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM in the Board Room located in the Administration Building.

Times and dates of specific activities will be available at registration. For additional information, contact Colleen Dominick - Recreation Director at (412) 831-7000.

Activities groups will be formed according to the grade the youth will be entering this coming school year. Registrants may choose as many activities as they wish for the individual fee providing they meet the grade requirements. NO REFUNDS.

Special Events for all Residents

There are several popular annual events that all residents can enjoy including Easter Egg Hunt & Brunch, Community Day, Children’s Halloween Party, Children’s Christmas Party, and the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.

A Note About Fees

Fees, when charged, sustain direct program costs. In many instances, volunteers provide assistance and leadership. Anyone interested in volunteering their services should contact Colleen Dominick - Recreation Director at (412) 831-7000.
